Delete your account and data
Last updated September 14, 2026
You can delete your Storied Archive account and the data it holds at any time. This page explains how, what is removed, and how long it takes. It applies to accounts in the Storied Archive app, operated by Revoice LLC.
The fastest way: in the app
If you have the app installed and can sign in, this is the quickest route:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Delete all my data.
- Confirm. Your content is hidden immediately and permanently erased after a 30-day grace period, during which you can undo.
Settings also offers a gentler option, Leave the family, which removes your private data and participation but lets the stories you gifted remain in your family's archive. The choice is yours, and each option explains exactly what it does before you confirm.
If you do not have the app
You do not need the app to have your account deleted. Email support@storiedarchive.com from the address associated with your account and ask us to delete it. We verify your identity before acting, so we may ask you to confirm details only the account holder would know. This protects you: it means no one else can delete your family's memories by pretending to be you.
We handle deletion by verified request rather than through a public form on purpose. A form that deleted an account from an email address alone would let anyone erase a stranger's archive, and would reveal whether a given address has an account. Requiring a verified request closes both of those risks.
What is deleted
When you delete all your data, we remove everything you authored, across every family you belong to:
- your voice recordings and their audio;
- the transcripts of those recordings;
- photographs you added;
- your profile and display name;
- your sign-in and the email address tied to your account.
What may remain, and why
- Other people's content that referred to you is not deleted, but your name is removed from it. For example, if you asked a relative a question and they answered it, their answer is theirs and stays, without your attribution.
- If you instead choose Leave the family rather than full deletion, the stories you gifted stay in the family's archive by design, attributed to your name (or to "a family member" if you prefer). Full deletion does not leave those behind.
- Backups are cleared on their normal rotation rather than edited record by record.
- Content we are legally required to preserve (for example material reported as child sexual abuse, which we must report to and hold for authorities) is kept until that obligation ends.
How long it takes
Deletion begins immediately: your content is hidden right away. It becomes permanent after a 30-day grace period, which exists so an action taken in grief or by mistake can be undone. For a request sent by email, the same timing applies once we have verified your identity. Backups age out on their normal cycle after that.
